Overview
The zipper pattern on this end-grain board creates a visual illusion of interlocking teeth running the length of the board. The sharp contrast between light cherry and dark walnut makes the pattern pop, turning a functional kitchen tool into a piece of art.
Build Notes
- End-grain construction for a self-healing, knife-friendly surface
- Two-species design: cherry and black walnut for maximum contrast
- Zipper pattern achieved through precise strip cutting and offset glue-up
- Flattened on a router sled to ensure a perfectly level surface
- Finished with food-safe mineral oil
- Recessed grip handles on both sides for easy lifting
- Rubber feet to keep the abse out of liquids
